Why are we librarians?

For me it is a love of books, and the magic of words. Sharing this is what I love about my job.
The first (mis-quoted) famous first lines author, Charles Dickens wasn't shy about laying it on with a trowel.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity; it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair; we had everything before us, we had nothing before us; we were all going directly to Heaven, we were all going the other way."

Hi Ellifantile - what a fabulous start! Why did you stop? I have finshed the exercises so am having a look to see what the rest of the gang are doing. Please join in again because you obviously have lots of wonderful thoughts and insights to offer the rest of us. A literary blog is always the best of blessings, so please come back to provide us with more of the same.
